Straighter Teeth the Easy Way
Have you always wanted straight and perfect teeth without the nuisance of wearing metal braces? Now you can with Invisalign. With Invisalign technology, you can attain that perfect smile without having to worry about bulky wires and irritating brackets.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign utilizes a series of removable, clear plastic trays called aligners. Aligners are form-fitting and are used to correctly adjust the position of your teeth. The clear plastic aligners are virtually invisible compared with metal braces.
How does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign is made with 3-D imaging technology. The procedure begins with a custom mold of your mouth. From this mold, Andrew Goldenberg, D.D.S. will create a series of digitally produced images. These images will lay out the incremental changes expected from this procedure. Invisalign aligners are then manufactured based off of the images.
Each Invisalign aligner should be worn for approximately two weeks. Once the two weeks are over, patients then transition to the next aligner until the process is complete. Invisalign should only be removed to eat, drink, brush and floss. The full Invisalign treatment typically takes 12 to 24 months depending on the patient’s needs. A dental evaluation is recommended once every six weeks to make sure adequate progress is being made.
What are the Benefits?
There are many benefits for choosing Invisalign to help straighten your teeth. The clear aligners make it virtually unnoticeable that you are wearing braces. This is an important feature to many people that may feel self conscious about their appearance with wire braces.
Invisalign gives patients the ultimate flexibility by having removable aligners. That means you can eat and drink whatever you like without the fear of a bracket breaking or food getting caught in your braces. Simply remove the aligner when it’s time to eat.
Unlike metal braces, Invisalign doesn’t use brackets or wires that can cause irritation to the lips and gums. Aligners fit comfortably within the mouth meaning no abrasions.
Invisalign also allows patients to view their own virtual treatment plan. Meaning, from the very start, you have an opportunity to see how your teeth will adjust from beginning to end. With metal braces it can be a waiting game to see how your teeth fully align.
Is Invisalign Right for Me?
Invisalign has helped more than 1 million people worldwide. Children and teenagers aren’t the only ones taking advantage of Invisalign. More and more younger and older adults are using Invisalign. Those that may have been self conscious or put off by metal braces are now using and embracing Invisalign to correct misaligned and crooked teeth.
Invisalign is an excellent option for many patients when it comes to orthodontic correction. However, every patient is different. To ensure your particular case will respond well with this procedure, it is important to schedule an appointment with Dr. Goldenberg.
